I bought a torque wrench that is in.-ibs,to torque the ls1 rockers.I also found that I bought the wrong one but was wondering if i could convert it Ft-LB....This wrench goes from 120-960 in.-ibs.Now i need to know what 23 pounds ft-lb torque is in in.-ibs.Can one of you guys help me out here.I dont know the correct formula to convert this.thanx

 

Shouldn't it be as easy as dividing by 12?

Inches..to feet..

Just look at the numbers..the range is given in perfect multiples of 12. A range of 10 ft-lbs to 80 ft-lbs sounds reasonable to me.

 

Oh, sorry..23 ft-lb = 276 in-lb.

ft*12=inches

 

So do you think its 256 inches?Sounds right tho.

It's the same as converting inches to feet, so 120-960 iinch pounds is 10 ft#-80 ft# and yes 23 ft# times 12 is 276 inch#.

 

Multiply feet by 12 to get inches..

divide inches by 12 to get feet..

So 1Nm=8.85072 in-lb
