hello cam help which one?

Hi everyone. Haven't posted on here in a while. Got the mod bug again, and want some more hp out of my car for now. I have been wanting a Procharger for a LONG time, but pricewise that is still out of budget. What do you guys think about me getting a cam made for a sc. Hopefully get a 30rwhp gain out of it. Then later putting a procharger on then heads. Will this work out alright for me? I'll get tuning of course. Current mods are as follows:

A4

334rwhp and 375rwtq

Performance Modifications:
Stock Aluminum Driveshaft
LS6 intake (Comes on 2001 Camaro's)
K&N Air Filter
Whisper High Flow Induction lid
Granatelli Mass Air Flow Sensor
Superior 3.73 Rearend Gears
Auburn Carrier
Free Ram Air Cutout
Nitto 555R's Drag Radials
Corsa Catback Exhaust
Hypertech 160 Degree Thermostat Throttle Body Bypass
SLP Strut tower brace
SLP Sub Frame Connectors
Powerslot Slotted Rotors
Durastop Performance Brake Pads
B&M Deep Transmission pan with Transmission Drain Plug
Lower Control Arms
FLP Long Tube Headers
Taylor Thundervolt 10.4mm wires
NGK TR-55 spark plug wires
Upper and Lower Panhard bars
Diablosport Predator
Spohn Adjustable Torque arm with Driveshaft loop
Yank PY3600E Torque Converter
Energy Suspensions Poly Transmission Mount
QTP Electronic Cutout

What cam should I get, or should I wait, and if I should wait, how can I squeeze some more power out of my car for now. Also, where would be best place to buy cam, what kind of gain can I expect, and how much should it cost? THanks so much.

If I forgot to add anything just reply. I'll be checking daily. Thanks guys.

so no recommendations on a cam? I'm thinking now maybe I should just do heads/cam for now then change cam/heads later for SC. What do you guys think? I just want more power and cant afford a SC right now.

Hey Mike, I think that Jake on the RX board just gave you some excellent advice. Remember those guys have some some stupid fast cars with minimal investment, except maybe for the, sure to be missed, Da Truth.

I had about the same mods as you, 338/rwhp. I put a Rapid Stage II cam and got 383/rwhp. I didn't want to go over 400/rwhp. Don't drag race it much. It is a nice street cam.

Demon, dunno about hp, but I want to break a 10.99 in my car someday. I'm doing some soul searching now and thinking of maybe just doing heads/cam. From what it seems is heads/cam is more reliable?? I don't have very much money at all right now, but want some more power out of my car, because just doesnt feel fast to me any more, so am trying to figure out what to do/what route to go with car now. I always wanted a procharger on my car, because figured that with heads/cam to accommodate would get my 10 sec slip, but now I'm thinking maybe just heads/cam will do for a few years, then go sc route. Just can't figure out what to do. Any tips/suggestions ARE welcome.

also by putting different cams in, you lose in some areas. Please help educate me. Do you lose gas mileage or what? Why doesn't everyone just get a cam which nets the most hp? Thanks.

running a 10.99 while doable won't be easy, not only does it take a lot of power but you have to have the suspension setup correctly amoung other things.
different cam will affect gas milage differently but heads/cam setups don't usually seriously affect gas milage(unless you consider the foot in pedal affect)
different folks go with different cams for different reasons, some just want a little more go, some are into auto-x, some drag race, lots of reasons

now if you want a killer set of heads/cam package we can set you up with a kit that would include
Stage 2 5.3L heads(hand finished, 2.02/1.57 valves, dual springs, bronze guides, etc)no core
Custom cam
gaskets
bolts
pusrods
for under $2000.00 shipped(I'll work up a price quote later today)
