Welcome to the board. I think some of your first mods should be a lid and a cut-out. Sorry i can't answer your other questions but im sure some will chime in.

Lid
Catback
Headers
Torque Convertor
Shift Kit
Tranny Cooler
Gears
Rear End Girdle
Drag Radials

That should get you off to a good start and i have a hunch that whoever had the car before you just decided to put fake badges on the car. I have never heard of either of those instances.

ok so I take it that the lid is the thing on the front of the engine that holds the air filter now which one is better a cold air intake or a new lid sorry for all the questions just a little different than my v6

Thumbs up

Welcome to the board!

The search button is the best thing since sliced bread for new members.

Just did a quick search with the words "first mods" and it brought up 2006 different threads.

I'm sure you'll find plenty of valuable information from those threads.

The airbox lid is referred to as the "lid". It's the black thing which sits on top of the air filter. The factory aribox lid is very restrictive, so therefore one of the first mods should be to replace that for better airflow.

Good luck with your new purchase!

there isnt much difference between the two besides price.

Most guys will tell you to run a lid and a KN filter or Holley Powershot filter and you will see a difference in the quarter mile. I saw almost .3 taken off my 1/4 times after i installed my lid and i still have a stock paper filter. Just find a lid that you like and buy it

I have no idea what the gp stands for, however the zr28 refers to some racing team that has a z heavily modded I think.

welcome to the world of ls1's

my advice is to drive it around stock for a few months to get used to the power then start the upgrade path. your gonna be laying down 2 times the power if not more and i don't want u to be another statistic.... these cars make ALOT from the factory \
