Headers for a lowered Camaro

My car has been lowered 1.5", but it does look lower than it should. I know Slp's are the worst for ground clearence, but what LT's can I get under there? The QTP "says" they will fit under lowered cars. What about just getting Mac mids?

There is nothing wrong w/Mac mids. They are fully capable. The only thing it that your cats or Y will scrape instead of a collector.

Re: Headers for a lowered Camaro

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've heard anything but shorty headers and the cats will have to be relocated?? I've got edelbrock shorties on mine and the cats have remained in their factory position. As well, I've heard mac mid-lengths are the best alternative to shorty/LTs, especially for slammed f-bods

Yes, the driver's side cat goes under w/Macs instead of at the bend. So you end up scraping the cat instead of a collector. If you are running an ORY, you'll scrape that instead of a collector.

I'm lowered 1.4" w/ Mac headers. I speak from experience.

I'm not concerned about the cats, they will be removed w/ a off-road y pipe. I would like to get LT, but just concerned w/ clearence. As seen in my sig, no real mods, but I hate to think I might be giving up on some pwr for mids instead of LT.

If you're really worried about clearance, go with the MAC mids. I'm very satisfied with mine

Re: Headers for a lowered Camaro

My car is about as low as you can get in the front... I run the Pacesetter LT's and have very few problems out of them. Huge speed bumps that aren't gradual and sharp dropoff from entrance/exits of parking lots are issues.

Just drive and be concious that you have less ground clearance than most other people out on the road and you should be alright.

The problem is I already have to do that now. I hit the same things going REAL slow, now add the thought of LT's.

I'd just go with the MACs. If you're on pbfbody.com (if not, ignore)...ask Claire if she has any clearance problems...her T/A is lowered with MACs and runs really strong (so you don't need LTs to make good power).

So what Y pipe can you get for the mids? I want off-road and to hookup to my Texas rumbler cat back? Do I have to only use theres?
