headers

hey guys its been a few weeks since i got my new lt pacesetters installed n now i see the SES light turns on. i have the o2 sims n extentions installed too so wat do u think the cause can be? also it smells kinda bad under the hood i mean it suppose to smell bad when u first get it installed n start it up but it has been like that for 2 weeks. also there is some kinda noise coming under the car which i think is the y-pipe. when ever i step on the gas i hear a weird noise. does anyone know what this could be?

From what I heard the 02 sims sometimes don't always kill the SES, an LS1 edit is what you should have done. Thats why I waited until I got my car tuned to worry about the headers causing the SES. The smell is very normal, its only the top coating on the headers getting burnt. And I also had a noticeable rumble noise on start up and WOT right under the driver seat right after the install, it went away after a few weeks, really not sure what was causing it initially, but it went away fairly soon.

Re: headers

Did you take off the EGR or AIR system as well? If so, that could be throwing a code.

Re: headers

Thats a code for your o2 sensor heater. I would swap your pre cat o2 sensors and see if the code changes to a bank 2 sensor 1. If the code changes replace the o2 sensor.

Re: headers

make sure the wires are zip-tied out of the way so that you don't (or havn't) burned one of the sensor wires.

could explain the delayed SES
