Re: Headers....

I heard Kooks isn't a bad choice. I also have recently bought a set of headers not realising that there is more than just price that goes into reserching them. Take into account, fit, GROUND CLEARANCE (Not SLP, my mistake) and coatings. I bought mine too soon. There is a weath of information and a number of good people here to help us.

Re: Headers....

Stage 8 bolts are not necessary. Mine is driven daily and is running the stock bolts and none have gotten loose. Yes, I have checked.

Re: Headers....

I run the FLP LT and love them. Of course they don't come cheap. I believe they were around $1100.

Re: Headers....

Coated Hookers have treated me well so far. Just a little surface rust around the bottom of the collectors after 3 years...

Re: Headers....

I would suggest some Pacesetters if you're not looking to spend a lot of money. I've been running Pacesetters and I'm very pleased with them. They are good headers with great ground clearance and great performance. I can get you Pacesetters, our ORY, O2 extensions, and O2 simulators for $659.97 + shipping. Let me know if there is anything we can do for you!

Re: Headers....

After yesterday, I can not suggest a set of pacesetters any more. I helped a friend install some LT's in his 98Z and it was like butter. Driver side was done in about a hour, and the biggest PITA was getting the pass. side manifold off. But both headers slip right in with no problems. I was amazed. He paid $257 for the headers(uncoated) and I think $150 for the y-pipe. He got them from Mike@ New Era. And about the gains......WHOA It makes me really debate putting any more money into my LT1. He has the ORYP and a cutout thats always open, the car sounds meaner, deeper more throaty. Throttle response is improved, and the car pulls like crazy! In other words.....GO for the Pacesetter's period
