Headers

Are SLP long tube headers good? and what do you people think of them? What type of gains would I get with them?

Thanks Dan

All LT's are going to give about the same gains. The main differences between headers will be fit, quality, and cost.

SLP's are a nice quality, but have a problem of hanging too low. They're about an inch and a half closer to the ground than all other headers.

Plus for the money you pay, you can get a nice set of Jet Hots, Pacesetters, Hookers...

IMO I'd say stay away from SLP's. A few friends have them and they're dying to get rid of them.

What if you can get them for $600 for the headers and the y-pipe and cats? Would you do it? and get SLP's

I still wouldn't do it just because of the clearance issue. You'd be banging the exhaust everywhere you go, especially if you lower the car.

I'd rather spend $1000 on FLPs just for the piece of mind.

(Actually I'm planning on $500 Jet Hots )

I would steer clear of SLP headers. Pacesetter are the best bang for the buck LT headers out there. If money is no object then kooks is an awesome header too.

Pacesetter has excellent ground clearance, however to me, (my drivers side header doesn't fit) I think they have alot of room to work on for fitting. Maybe yours will fit, but mine doesn't. I'm going to either make mods to the headers or sell them.
