I found a nice set of Mac Midlenth headers w/ y pipe for my Ls1....Are these headers worth $400.00? And what kind of power gain do you think I will get with these? I also have a LM and I heard the rasp is horrible with headers, so also, what can I do to make it less raspy if I get these headers?

How does LM sound with that set up? Please don't say a old rusted pickup truck. :P

 

Well, that depends, if it has no cats, then it will sound really raspy at high rpms, kinda like an alcohol dragster with an engine about to blow. Ok so i exagerated a bit, but i hate raspiness. With cats it should sound decently loud without too much rasp.

 

so your saying that set up will quite it down some and there won't be too much rasp?

 

for 400 bucks why not....i got loudmouth as well and im still saving for some headers. but i seen alot of people running with macs. they still get good gains from them. alot of people say run longtubes because of more hp which is true but i asked around they say its just a 5 hp difference between mid length and full length. but macs overall are good headers....
