Header leak questions

Just got the flowtechs and will be installing this weekend, does anyone have any tips on how to prevent leaks? Like some kind of sealent on the gasket or maybe even sanding the front of the header smooth, (there are some like drips of the coating on there and what not). Any tips on that or any other part of the install would be great. Ill be using a lift to do the job so hopefully it will go pretty smooth.

only thing i've been told is to use the OEM metal gasket that GM uses, not the paper gasket they supply.

i got mine with the headers from thunder
