Head porting

Anyone know where I can get this done for a decent price?

So far I've seen from $800 to $1200 just to port the damn things. Thats F*CKIN rediculous!

I dont mind sending them places either. But IF you happen to know of anyone in the Kansas City area that would help more.

we do a full stage 1(what most call a stage 2) for $1495.00(no core) or for $1245.00 using your heads, plus shipping.
Stage 1 includes
hot tanked and pressure tested
stage 1 ported(hand finished)
2.02 intake valves
1.57 exhaust valves
dual springs
ti retainers
hardened spring seats
bronze guides
3 angle valve job
milled
flowed with flow sheet

just to port them( no valve job or anything else) on a stage 1 level is $500.00 plus shipping.

I hope you numbered those valves if you were planning to put them back.

We are in the Louisville, KY area so I would say about $25-30 insured to ship them to us, about the same back.

What caused that? The valve head? do you have any other pics? must have been a serious over rev!

As long as the seats are not nicked or too badly damaged you can probably get a way with a valve job, which if you are installing new valves you should do anyway.

I would like to see some more pics though if you have any.

Renting a CNC machine costs money. Spending 40+ hours on a set of heads, is worth money.

Cheap port jobs, are just cheap. JMO

from the pics the seats look ok, but again I am just looking at pics so it is difficult to say for sure. a ding/gash in the port won't hurt your performance in a noticable manner on a stock/mostly stock setup. if you were running high compression it would be a different story(possibly) as fuel atomization could be affected.

you mentioned installing new valves so again I would suggest a valve job at least, so the valves match the seats.
