Head/cam questions...

Well id do a search but it seems like everyone has a different goal in mind, so i thought id ask it here...

Id love something around 440 or 450 at the wheels, but i want it to be reliable as it is my daily driver. The biggest thing to me is reliability, i dont want to drive it 2000 miles and then have something break.

Also, id like for the power to peak at a lower RPM, not high up like some radical setups do. I dont want to have to rev the hell out of the engine to get it in the powerband.

Budget would be about 3000 or so, although if i could get something for less it would of course be better, and im going to be swapping in a manual so id have the A4 gone.

So any suggestions?

F14 or TSP torquer V2, 112 lobe
Dart 205 heads, milled
associated bolt ons and a tune

should make 440-450rwhp easy...and be perfectly streetable as well as having a great torque curve down low.

While 440-450rwhp isn't unhead of with an LS6 intake manifold and a ported TB, the Dart 205cc might possibly hold you back from your goal.

Here's my suggestion:
Dart 225s
Futral Motorsports F-13 or F-14 camshaft
FAST 90/90 setup
Dyno tune
At least a 3.90 gear with a 6-speed or a 3.73 with an automatic.

Longtube headers with all the bolt-ons, etc.

That will get you solidly where you want to be.
