we live in cal and wanted to know if there are anyhead and cam packs that are smog legal?

 

technically....i dont' think any are...i think accoding to the law any modification of the internal makup of an engine is illegal, as well as many external mods.

now whether they pass emissions sniff test is a different story.

i've heard guys passing smog in cali with the TR224 cam and the proper tune. i'm not sure if heads would adversely affect the emissions or not.

or try for something smaller like the LS6 upgrade. that net you around 375hp to the wheels and be very driveable.

living in cali the 224 cam will pass smog and any set of heads will do too. if it came with a ls6 intake then im guessing its either a 01 or 02.

 

"Passing smog" and "smog legal" are two different things. You might want to check with a shop that does smog inspections. Just to be on the safe side. i think engine modifications need a CARB # to be legal.

Yeah, like the others have said.......the tr 224 is NOT smog legal but will pass the smog sniffer.

nope u cant pass smog with lt headers. you can only pass it with shorties. but i have some buddies who can pass smog for me so i dont worry about whether being able to pass it or not.

 

i was thinkin you could pass emissions with long tubes as long as they kept all the emissions equipment?
