head bolts sealer or not (ls1)

head bolts sealer or not (ls1)

Guys do any of the head bolts need sealer or not . The car is a 2000 Z28 with an ARE 385 and MTI heads . TIA

I'm going to guess yes, some of the bolts run through coolant passages on cars, if this is true on your car you should use it.

Question

i am building a SB1 out of a 350 86-99 block and i am wondering what bolts i should use thread sealer on?

i am using ARP head studs and main studs other that that the rest are ARP bolts

Consult a shop manual to ensure you do it right...I haven't torn down an ls1 but numerous chev sb's. I use loctite 567 on the bolts..all of them.
