has anyone done this with their SLP LM?

I've seen a borla exhaust were the driver side exhaust pipe went threw a muffler and the other went just out the back? When i install my cam if its too loud thats the set up i was thinking about doing? with a slowmaster. Now i'm woundering what that will sound like? Mellow @ idle and nasty a WOT ?

so what does this have to do with an SLP loudmouth??

all you refer to is a borla and a flowmaster...

i have seen guys run a single inlet/outlet muffler that exits on the driver side, and jsut before the exhaust goes into the muffler (as it's coming down from looping over the axle) they installed a standard cutout. then fabed up a tail pipe that matched the driver side, and when they wanted mufler they would just use the single outlet, but most of the time just hav the cutout open with the other pipe in place of the cap.

or i supose you could make plates to go inbetween like the borla...whatever floats your boat...

still don't see what this has to do with a LM...which don't have a mufler at all..just a resonator before the axle

What I was saying is that I have a LM on now. If you read my sigs you'll see what else I have done. What I was getting @ was when I install my cam it might be just to loud for everyday driving. So I saw some were that showed a exhaust just like the LM but only one side had a muffler in place, the other side just went stright back. I was thinking of doing the same thing.

oh i see...

can't help you on that idea

i was thinking of buying on of these 30" long chambered mufflers from summit and installing it in place of the resonator on a LM. similar to how guys swap the resonator out for bullet mufflers to quiet it down.

i'm curious how it would sound...

just a thought

The chambered muffler is not gonna sound anything like a bullet. Does a Loudmouth sound like a GMMG catback? There 2 different mufflers. The Chambered ones sound more muscle car, deeper, less raspy sounding. The bullet (which i have) sound just the same as a cutout except it rids all the high frequencies out so its deeper and more refined. Im gonna swith to those chambered mufflers on my true duals to see how they are.
