ok so i have a 99 Z28 6 spd and tonight i was out cruising around and i smell this god awful smell and i was thinking shoot smells like my clutch is hot so i headed towards home( 6 blocks away) and on my way home i here this loud knock like something was hitting up thru my center console and every time just let out on clutch to give it gas it would knock or every time i let off gas n low gears any ideas??? (i just had the clutch rebuilt not even 3 weeks ago)

Could be the Tq arm, or maybe trans mount. I doubt its in the clutch if it still goes into gear and drives fine, once its into gear.

Time to get it up in the air and take a look. Borrow or buy some ramps or a jack (and some stands), and get under it and take a look-see.

If you dont see anything out of the ordinary (have a friend help, if your not sure what should be where); take it back to whoever did the clutch and get them to check it out.

 

I ended up taking it to the place who did my clutch he hoisted er up and sure enough it was that arm that runs right next to drive shaft the bolt on the top side of the bracket that held it in place must have wiggled loose cause it was gone and so every time I hit the throttle they arm pulled up....... he put a new bolt in and it runs like a champ now.... thanks a lot for the input I really appreciate it...
