Gutting cats?

How do you guys gut your cats. Do you just take a screwdriver or something to break up the material in there and dump it out or what? Thanks guys.

I took the end of a crowbar to my friend's '94 Z when I gutted it for him. Got everything busted up really good, started it and revved it up a good bit to blow most of the stuff out. Then proceeded to bust up whatever chunks were left inside.

IMO, dont do that, if you dont want the cats, cut them out and have pipe welded back in....hollowed cats usually give kind of a tinny, metallic sound to the exhaust. plus if you don't get ALL the crap out of there, it sound TERRIBLE.

one thing to remember when busting the material up(disclaimer-I do not recommend nor advocate this as it may be considered illegal ) DO NOT breathe in the dust it will create as it is midly toxic
