Gummy Orange coolant-- head gasket?? HELP!?!?

Re: Gummy Orange coolant-- head gasket?? HELP!?!?

Blown headgasket generally makes the coolant overflow badly and the coolant gets a tan foamy creamy salad dressing consistency. Dexcool gets contaminated and starts to develop the sludge. If it's not overflowing, it probably just needs to be flushed and the collant replaced. The prestone flush kit is what GM recommends. Follow the directions, then replace the coolant. If you remain concerned about the headgasket, have it pressure tested bfore you do the flush.

Re: Gummy Orange coolant-- head gasket?? HELP!?!?

Thanks for all your help guys. Flushed out the system with water today, then i am running some Prestone radiator cleaner stuff for a couple days, before i refill with coolant. Still seems weird to me about the coolant. It was nasty. I had to use gas to clean out my reservoir, it was so bad. (dont worry, i rinsed very well) Anybody know where to dispose of used coolant?
