Grinding Reverse???

I was ****in around with my cousin in his Rsx Type S on some hills, needless to say he beat the **** out of me cuz i bottomed out on everything, let alone he is one of the best drivers i have ever seen. ANYWAY, we pull into a parking lot and i go to put it in Reverse and GRIND. Foot was all the way down on the clutch. Then later that day i went to the movies and getting out of the parking spot... GRIND again. It was amazingly loud.... i was embarrassed. And again, my foot was all the way down on the clutch. Whats goin on?

Mine does it too. I thought it was something to do with the clutch I put in (centerforce dual). Everywhere I read, I hear how $h!tty the hydraulics are in the f-bodies and the revissions that were made. So, either the clutch is not fully disengaging the flywheel or the syncros in your tranny might be off. You still have the warranty, so I'd give the dealer a call and here what they've got to say. Just watch out for the "your mods kill your warranty" excuses. They have to prove your mods caused the problem before they can refuse replacing parts.

PS - I noticed that when I have a hard time getting it into reverse, if I put it into 1st and then reverse it'll go without any trouble/grinding.

The synchros aren't quite meshing. Just put it in first and move an inch or two and then put it into reverse.

Borg Warner syncros are not exactly superb, Try double clutching and then shifing into 6th and then into reverse. Usually does the thick. Just dont ever force it. that only makes it worse over time.
