GM Factory Replacement Gears?

GM Factory Replacement Gears?
Are the GM factory replacement gears any good? I found a performance shop that quoted me $225 for labor on a gear replacement but they said they only install GM gears. Would I be better off using an after market gear and paying for more for labor at another shop? Thanks in advance! Oh by the way I will be upgrading to a 3.73.
