Getting the tr 224 cam, Whats diff between .112 and .114 lsa?

im not an idiot with cars, i know all cam sepcs and what they mean. but how will the .112 affect ur motor differeantly than the .114? hp diff? rougher idle? which one is the one to go with?

which one sounds lumpier and sexier

Won't be much of a power difference, the 114 will have a less lopey idle and will make power a little higher in the powerband.

With the 112 you will have more valve overlap, thus causing a lumpier idle and more power.

Also with the 114 your car will idle at a lower rpm and sound more calm. The 112 will have a more noticable lope to it.

NOt to mention higher LSA is better for those worried about emissions testing.

114 has a better chance of passing the sniffer than a 112-- granted it's not much, but if you live in a strict area it might be the diff. between pass/fail.

I'm pretty sure most places don't even do a sniffer on obdII cars, at least that's how it is here in IL

lol right across the river in st. Louis they do the simulated road test. Sniffer pass/fail. Of course they also check the OBDII, which can fail you even if your car DOES pass emissions.
