getting my new tranny back, teach me.....

Ok. I know a bit about cars, but I want this post to be more of a refresher. SO here it goes....

I'm getting my newly built 4L60E back, and want to know the do's and don'ts.

Change the fluid/filter every 15k miles, right?

Is it ok to manually shift it?

Tell me everything you can think of that I do/do not want to do. Is power brakeing bad? (Holding brake hard, and pushing on gas until tires spin).

Please tell me any info. you can. Thanks.

Add a trans cooler if you don't already have one.

Hope this helps.

already have a transmission cooler and B&M Deep tranny pan with drain plug.

Also, I am having the shop put in a transgo shift kit, and I am running a Yank PY3600E verter. I know my rear will be the next to go. I just don't want my tranny to go again. I am gettin ga procharger with 8# of boost for my next mod. So that is why I am having my tranny built to hopefully (Supposedly) handle that much power.

is revving the car in park bad for the transmission?

how about throwing it in neutral and giving someone a rev?

fluid and filter i'd recomend about every 10-15k. manually shifting is better left to someone with a manual valve body as it's not needed with something you can program your shifts with. only time i recomend shifting it yourself when doing a burnout. i'd try to hold it in first unless it's spinning too hard as it's pretty hard on the 4L60E's to make the 1-2 shift under that much load due to the wide gear ratio split.
