Getting 98 Z- What first?
I just totalled my 94 Z on Saturday. Check out my mods in the sig. I know what to do with lt1's but I don't know that much about ls1's. I want to get loudmouth exhaust again but I am lost after that. I am also going to go with a 6 speed this time. The converter kicked my *** last time. I want to go with 410 gears as well. What about the cai stuff. For my old 94 Z I went with moroso. I don't know what to do with an ls1 for cold air though. Will somebody fill me in on the basics of ls1's? I know they are faster but by how much?

1st i always get the common bolt ons...
1) Whisper lid $120 Holley filter $30
2) SLP MAF $100
3) SLP Bellow $40 (the piece between the MAF and throttle body)
4) SLP Ypipe$120 And Loud Mouth catback$310+
Thats what i would do 1st
My second stage in mods would be:
Long Tube headers, NOS kit and Nittos..
3rd stage:
Turbo 350 transmission with 3200 Stall...
1) Whisper lid $120 Holley filter $30
2) SLP MAF $100
3) SLP Bellow $40 (the piece between the MAF and throttle body)

Now this is what I would do...
Lid (if you care about looks pick one you like, if not get the cheapest one you can find. Beware, some SLP lids are not made perfectly and do not seal.)
Avoid a MAF as they are hit and miss. Some people get gains others experience issues the second they install.
Exhaust as usual. Pick the one you like and go..
LS1's are faster stock vs stock.. My LT1 like yours was not stock.. So my LS1 at this moment makes more power but is not quicker in the 1/4. Faster yes. but not quicker.. I dont care as much about my MPH as I do about ET.. ET is what its all about.
My car has remained stock for over 3 months. WHY? TRACTION. Once I get that I can use the 330 rwtq and get the HP to the ground. Makes no sence to add HP over and over and not get it to the ground. I am awaiting tubes for my ET Streets.
After traction, filter, then lid. I do track runs after every mod and dyno tests as well. More expensive but it feels better to have facts.

And I dont think he will need the 3rd stage of your setup... although it looks like a good setup for an a4 he said he went m6 this time.
Lid is about the first thing that anyone should do I think. I got mine from LS1MotorSports.com for only like 95 bucks and it works and fits great. I did all the free mods too and the free ram air mod is a good one. My exhaust was already on my car when I got it so I have just left the flowmasters on there even though I know they dont flow very well... they still sound great.
