I just had 3.73's installed on my 2001 Z28 auto. The car feels great as far as driving goes but something is bothering me. There is now a whining sound coming from the back. I have heard this is normal, but I just want to make sure. Does this happen to everyone and if so what is the best way to reduce or eliminate this whining sound? It's not terribly loud, but I would like to know what I can do about it. Thanks in advance to anyone who bothered to read or respond to this post.

 

Some gears are louder than others. GM gears tend to be the quietest but it also depends on how they were set up. I wouldn't worry about it if they aren't to loud.

Tom hit the nail on the head.. depends on brand and setup.

A little noise is okay. but if it starts getting extremely loud over time ...something is wrong.
