yea', i'm still in my learning stages of driving a stick (i've only had the car for 2 weeks), so i haven't really pushed the car to all that it can do yet. i just filled up yesterday and i went 345 miles per tank, with a combination of freeway and city driving, very happy about that...

I just can't understand why anybody would pay the money for a 350 hp car just to go to the gas station and derate it to a 310 hp car. Why not just go and buy a regular burning 310 hp car to begin with?
Around here premium is worst case 20 cents higher than regular at 13 gallons per fill that's a whopping $2.60 a tank full. At 1 tank per week for 6 summer months that's a grand total of $67.60 more for a whole summer of fun running the right gas and enjoying top performance from your ride. What's that? The price of one night out or date? I'll stay home one weekend.

How are you guys getting over 91 octane? The premium around here is only 91.

My car has never had under 93 octane but I definately wouldn't go lower than 91.

octane ratings vary in areas. In the bay area i only see 91. some other states have 93. If u can only get 91 its ok.

Up here it's 10 - 12 cents more per litre for premium vs regular, so 12 cents/litre X 50 litres = $6 more per tank. I can easily go through 2 tanks in 1 week, X 4 weeks in a month, that's $48. Not that it's a lot of money, but ~$50/mth is better spent paying off loans, etc., to me. However, I'm probably gonna start paying it anyway if I plug the Hypertech back into my car...........it forced the use of Sunoco 94, but at least I do notice a lot better pick-up out of the car.

How much more power do I need when all I'm doing is cruising to and from work or on the road traveling? Ya, when I go out racing I'll pump in the good stuff, but just for daily driving duties it isn't needed. Try doing manual type work and driving a non-AC truck for 55-60 hours per week and tell me how much time you have and how much you even feel like being in a car for more time.

I see running not at optimum perfomance on a daily driven car better than being a guy that garages his f-body during the week and drives a Honda on the weekdays. You might as well ask guys who have 600 hp cars sitting in their garage why they don't drive them daily too.

So, are you saying you are using the full 350 hp potential all the time everytime you drive your car??? If so, your drive train isn't going to last very long because you'd have to be hammering it at every light all the time and forget about speed limits.
