Future project. Need advice.
I will graduate soon and actually start making some money. I currently own a 95 z28 m6 with p/p stock heads, cc305 cam, forged internals at 11:1. Anyway, I am dead set on doing a ls1 single tubo project. The question is.... should I buy a 98 z28 and make it appear like an SS, buy a 98 SS, or buy a 98 TA? I'm leaneing more toward z28 due to cost issues. More importantly, what should I do with the 95 Z? It's always been paid for. The motor will be about a year old with 10k miles on it. Should I tone it down for a daily driver, sell it for parts, or make a straight up drag car out of it? BTW, have another vehicle for good gas milage and winter.
So what would you do?
So what would you do?
Re: Future project. Need advice.
If you like the SS, get an SS. If you like pop up headlights and lumbar seats get the TA. Don't get the Z28 and add on the hood spoiler, badges and wheels to make it an SS. You'll spend more money making the 'fake' than you would by just getting the right car to begin with.
As for the rest of the question, we don't really know too much about the condition of the 95. If it's a POS sell it, part it or gut it. Otherwise, keep it intact, and enjoy driving it when you're building the LS1 in the SS.
My $0.02.
