Fuel system

What type of fuel system does the LS-1,2,6 engines have? Is it return or return-less. I never hear f-body guys complaining about changing fuel pumps.
Oh yeah, what type does the LT-1 have too?

Re: Fuel system

Welcome to the Board. Most all fuel injected engines for over 15 years now have a fuel pump in the fuel tank and a return to the tank. It keeps fuel pressure at the fuel rail to the fuel injectors at a set pressure with the help of a fuel pressure regulator. The rest of the fuel that is not used runs back to the tank. I just changed out my '95 Z28 fuel pump after 125k miles. They are reliable, but more of a pain to change than the old style carberator versions. Later>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Re: Fuel system

LS1's have a return-less fuel system. That's why there are no adjustable fuel pressure regulators available for our cars. You need software (like EFI Live) to adjust fuel settings for LSx cars.

Re: Fuel system

1997 LS1's have a return style, 1998 and newer LS1's have return-less style system.
