friendly tip/reminder to 98 - 99 LS1 f-body cars
aparently this might become an issue due to the age of our cars
next time you go to your car, pop the hood and look on the passenger side of the engine.
there is the metal AIR emissions line that comes up from the manifold and then converts into a rubber line. right next to where it is still a metal hard line make sure it is not contacting anything, specifically the hard line of the A/C.
if it is contacting, gently bend the metal hard line for the A/C away from the engine, its aluminum so it'll bend easy.
mine has aparently been rubbing its way through my A/C lines over the last few years and finally made it burst while i was driving down the road. total price fixed was roughly $180 for a new hard line and an evac / refill.
i believe the AIR system was slightly altered in 2000 so it might not be an issue for 2000+ cars, but it is definantly an issue for 1998 and 1999 LS1 f-cars.
just an FYI
