the EGR mod is the removal of some of the tube inside the intake, just behind the TB. theoretically it helps flow.

i say just remove the EGR all together

for the TB bypass, there is a hose on each side of the tb, kindda on the underside of it. you need to remove those, and connect them. the hassle is that they are 2 different sizes so you need to mix/match some tubing connectors to fit.
since i don't have a decent parts store near me, i just spent the $15 on the kit from BMR. it's also available on ebay, but i don't kknow the quality.

"polish" the TB? it's more like "port" the tb. there is a lip inside the tb on the outside of the blade. it makes the tb a little smaller than the actual blade size...theoretically another hinderance to flow. you can grind this lip off or machine it off for a better finish. several of the sponsors have ported tb's that they professionally do for a reasonable price. worth checking out to see what i mean.

 

to do the egr mod dont you have to program the computer so it will still pass emmissions? thanks

 

Its not emission legal most places to remove it at all

but you CAN modify it by just cutting it off so it is flush with the intake manifold...

If you REMOVE the EGR your check engine light will come on until you have it programed out, or put it back on.

BTW I dont have AIR or EGR at all and I live in Texas.....there are ways around getting your inspection...

 

I don't recommend most all of the Free-Mods, but that's just me

 

free ram air, throttle body bypass and gutted cats are about the only worthwhile mods.

i've never seen any proof of power gains from any of the others.

i'd like to see if the EGR tube modification actuallly makes a difference. it's a big tube in the intake and "could" hinder flow quite a bit. would like to see a dyno run with it.

 

i just did it to clean up the engine bay.

theres enough crap under there as it is.

once those coil packs are outta the way it'll look much better
