Exclamation Forget Blue Book! How much should I ask for my 02 SS. (Tons of pics at link)

I have to get rid of my car b/c I'm broke. I'm not in a real hurry to sale so I can wait for the right price to be hit. But how much should I hold out for? It's in perfect condition the only bad thing is I have driven it alot(highway). It's 13 months old and has 28,432 miles oh her.

Thanks for any feedback,

Jezzz, that is alot of miles! Mine is 13 months old too but I just turned 5K miles.

I would think you could get 24,500 for it! If your in a hurry to sell offer it for 24,000.

I just ran it on Kelly Blue Book and it said $ 27,445 retail. Could could probably come close to that estimate.

Don't want to be negatve, but this not agood time to be a seller. Over a year of zreo % finance has a glut of used cars on the market, and it's now a discontinued model which scares off some people. In just a few years F-body cars will be getting scarce and the cult value will grow, just like Grand Nationals and Impala SS, but it's a little early for that now.If you could hold off for a while it's investment value will make it worthwhile.

Thanks for the feedback. I had no Idea. I'll see if I can hold off. I just feel that it might start costing me after the warrantee goes out. Besides tires, gas, and speeding tickets are killing me. Maybe I can get my Dad to buy it from me and hold it or something. Anyways, thanks.

Ps. $25,000 firm and it's your car. :-)

KBB private party value for a loaded 02 s.s. w/23k is about $23,000. And KBB is always high. You have to remember that the car is less than a model year old, to sell you are going to take it in the shorts. On top of that, it's sounds like you have been driving the hell out of the car which is'nt going to help you sell it.
Put it in the paper and see what happens. Good Luck

Like everyone above is saying.. your milage is going to KILL you. Your 02 has more miles than my 00. If you are that worried about it eating up your pocket book for gas, tires, and tickets, but you dont really want to get rid of it then I suggest trying to find a beater. See if you can save up 1000 buck or so and get a different daily driver so you can keep miles off your Camaro. That is what I am planning on doing soon as I can.

Sad thing is I don't drive my SS during the week and I have a beater. :-)

I just put all those miles on it going to Disc Golf tournys all over texas every weekend. I may try ebay and the local paper. Thanks for the ideas.

That is a very clean SS!

Just for reference, I just bought a pewter 2001 SS A4 with 40K miles on it for $17K in Dallas. I got 4% financing as well.

The only differences are the chrome rims and the M6.

Book value was over $21K on mine. I bought it from a dealership.

Had a brand new set of BFG KDW tires on it for me to roast!

here is my SS. This was a couple of days before I bought it

There seems to be a lot of people these days who are dying to get out from under these things. It's great for a buyer but sucks for people selling.

Good luck re-sale value on f-bodies suck not to mention used car sales are down big time because of the 0% thing.

I hate to be this way and I understand you are trying to get top $$ for you car but with the miles you have $25k is quite a bit here in Orlando I see used SS's 01 and 02 with half and even a 1/3 of the miles you have going to $18-22k.

Last week a mom and pop used car lot had a bases NBM SS (loaded all pwr) with 9700 miles on it in great condition they had a sticker price on the car of $19995 when I wetn back on Monday the car was gone the guy told me is sold for $19500.

Heck my loaded Z (all options) was still less out the door $23,7xxx than what you are asking.

I have a feeling you will get about $22-$23,5xxx for you car.

What do you owe on the car, if you don't mind posting that. In this market you are not going to make ANY money selling a used car. When brand new ones have 0 down, 0 Interest.

Just try to break even and not take it in the shorts too bad! Good luck man! I hope you make out better than I did on when I sold my '97 Z28 to get my '02 SS.

My *** still hurts from that one!
