forged pistons for stock bore ls6

I'm building up an LS6 engine. I can't seem to locate any stock bore forged pistons for it. JE/SRP and everybody else I've tried would have to do a custom forge, and that's too expensive..

Does anybody know of a set of forged pistons for a stock bore LS1/LS6?

Thos project needs to be finished by the end of next week, so time is definitely an issue.

If you bore it out to a 3.905" bore, there are many pistons that will fit.

The sleeves won't take much more than that.

Check Wiseco, Ross, Diamond.

It's looking like that's what we're going to do. Do you know what the stock bore, and maximum allowed bore for those sleeves are? I need some of this information to guarantee I get the right pistons/bore specs done. Turns out boring an engine is significantly less than I thought. Machine shops are the ****.

On that note, what are the specs for the head bolts? I'm trying to go with ARP, but I'm not sure if I should get LS6 or LS1 bolts (I hvae an LS6 block, with LS1 heads), and what length they are. The tech told me there's a kit with 11mm length bolts all through, or variations of lengths in a kit.

LS6 and LS1 blocks are the same as far as the head bolts go. And most of the bolts are a couple of hundred mm long. Three lengths and two diameters. Thunder Racing lists 113-134-3609 ARP LS1 Hex Head Bolt Kit $139.64

Mahle and Lunati offer off the shelf forged pistons for stock bore. Check Texas-Speed for Mahle.. I've seen Lunati at least at SDPC & Tbyrne

Yep, so now he has the numbers for studs or bolts. I went with studs myself.

Your tech is correct. PN 12498545 is the 97-03 head bolts in a set. The 04 set is all the same length and is a different part no. You probably have a block that is 97-03.

Use the stock bolts for a NA build up. You will need the ARP for power adders.
