Although I don't think the bullseye is a "for sure" way to tell if it's an LS6 block or not...if there is a bullseye, there's a real good chance that it's an LS1 block.
Regardless of whether it's a Earnhardt SS (or any "special" Camaro for that matter) or not, $11.5k is still ridiculously cheap. It sounds very fishy so I would do all the checking I could to make sure that car is ok. Make sure the vehicle still has a warranty, call SLP to make sure that it is indeed a "real" SS, carfax report, see if you notice anything that might hint of it being wrecked, etc...
Good luck with the possible purchase...but cover your a**.

However, I wouldn't really consider buying a car from a person who owns a body shop, tells such BS about the car, the sticker, doesn't know the year of the car etc.

F-bodies are cheap in TX, but for him to sell a car with a clean title, car which hasn't been wrecked, flooded etc. for $11.5 and still making profit off it is starting to get suspicious.

If you are ready to live with the possible issues with the car and its past, then it is probably a good deal. It is good that you are doing your research before buying it, though, not after.

Good luck!

Thinking about it, there was a guy up in north Texas that was selling a red SS. It had been in a fender bender, the car had been totalled and rebuilt. I know he was selling that off for about 10K or 11K. I remembered it was cheap. But it had a salvage title and he advertised it as such.
Like someone else said, the 2 sticker thing is BS. We automaitcally have 2. On is the inspection, the other is the registration.
From what I have heard all Z28 and SS's come up as Z28 on a carfax, since the SS is a package for the Z28. But the difference in the years is an issue.

Sorry, missed this VERY obvious B. S. last night. ALL D. E. Cars were 2001 cars. The free carfax caught that part. Call GMMG,inc. They built every one of the cars. Check all of the pictures in the links that people here have posted for you. This guy is feeding you a full buffet on alot of the other "facts" about this car, so don't get choked.
edit: The sticker on the back can be bought at most auto stores. The sticker on the air box lid and the ORIGINAL signature on the white faced gauges can not be bought. GMMG, inc, only sold the cars that Dale Earnhart had already signed.

i got the carfax report back
it says its a 01 model z28 that was bought in july 01 wrecked in april 02 and bought again in oct 03.
however the reported mileage when it was wrecked was 25000 so it must be odometer fraud cause the odometer only says 2100 right now.......
whoever fixed this car must have done a hell of a job because it looks flawless and drives and runs even better.....
and as far as the Earnhardt bs , i confronted him about it and he said that it was bought from a Earnhardt dealership
but he lied about the year model, and mileage... unless he's jus goin by what the person he bought it from said
OH YEAH, YOU GUYS ARE GONNA LOVE THIS : i asked him about it bein a hard top and he said that because the car has an "LS6" in it, THEY COULDN'T MAKE IT WITH T TOPS BECAUSE THE TORQUE OF THE CAR WOULD TWIST THE FRAME OF THE CAR AND BREAK THE GLASS !!!!!!!!!! HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH
