First Time at the track...
First Time at the track...
Well first time with the ta at the track... what a doosey. got 3 runs.... with the set up in my sig MINUS the spare and jack.
1st run was 13.9 at 100 with a 2.4 60'..... Yea missed 4th, bogged off the line... spun every gear through power shifting... we learned after this run...
2nd run 13.3 at 108... with a 2.23 60' Good Run i guess...
3rd run 13.2 at 108... with a 2.1 60' THIS WAS A 12 SECOND RUN, at the line the guy made me wait for this pos to get off the track after i held it at 3 grand for like 2 minutes. Thing was REAL HOTT.
Here is my time slip for the last run:
Tires: Good Year Eagle F1's.... BALD... THEY SUCK.
Weight: With me in it, 3720... i weigh about 160.
What do ya'll think? I posted a thread earlier about who thought i could get a 13.1 or better... i know this car can hit a 12.9... the last run proved it to me.

I think the same thing of my car, I know it is capable of a 12.x. I can't seem to reduce my 60' at the track I have went to. You had some good runs, when I miss 3rd I get a 13.9 also. And when my 60' are in the 2.2 range I'm at 13.3. I'm not powershifting my car though.

This should prob be in the drag racing section though.

Re: First Time at the track...
Not bad at all...DRs should put you in the 12s for sure.
If that's a timeslip, I need to start going up there to run.

I went to the track last time with my Nitto DR and I could not get a better 60' than with my street tires. The track I went to is very slick. Last run I heated them up quite a bit... and to my amazement they kinda stuck, which screwed me because I wasn't expecting that and it bogged and I still ran a 2.15 60'. I'm getting concerned running too many 1/4 miles with my car also. I'm gonna try a different track that is supposed to be better maintained. Then I'm not returning to the track w/o having some power adding mods.
With slicks you may find yourself bringing home your car in pieces cause you will need to drop the clutch from something like 5000 to get it to launch, I doubt your stock clutch would be happy about that either.

I agree with you. The car probably does have the ability to run a high 12. DR's could get you there. You just need a 1.9 60'or better. DR's should allow you to launch plenty hard without breaking the rear. Now slicks thats another story as was mentioned above. Another option is LT headers. For the price of DR's and wheels to mount them on (if you want to run street tires the rest of the time) you could be in the range of pacesetter LT's. I'm planning on getting pacesetters. You add in money for new cats or off road pipes and o2 sims then some extra for welding and your not talking to much and you would always have them on as opposed to the DR's (if you swap them out for track use only). I would think LT headers and a good launch on street tires would put you in the 12's with what you already have shown. I figure pacesetters (240 uncoated 330 coated), cats (50 to 60 a piece) and a shop welding it all together (150 to 200 - once you install the LTs) your in the 500 to 800 range (I think 650 would be a close actual cost)
