went to the track yesterday and ran 1/4 mile for the first time. ran a 12.98 at 111 mph in a 2000 ss camaro 6 speed on street tires, mods are loudmouth exhaust, slp air lid, and slp ls6 intake, i was expecting low 13's but ended up in 12's i was happy, i was spinning bad in 1st and 2nd

did you read you read his post?hes spinning in first and second he claims.hes on street tires and hes trapping at 111.so yes,ls1s that trap that high are capable of low 12s.hes just a good hook away from running low 12s.is it that hard to believe?it really doesnt take a whole lot to get an m6 to run low 12s man.

i must say you know absolutely nothing about ls1 potential.

I'm pretty sure he knows enough to know that Low 12's aren't going to happen on a pretty much stock LS1. I've trapped 111 before as well but only on runs where I've spun off the line. If you can dead hook and run a 111 trap speed then maybe you'd be in the low 12's. I promise you a set of drag radials won't get that car into the low 12's....thats a fact.

On another note. Great times....you got a strong running car man.

well,i disagree.i didnt say it would be easy but its possible.he might not trap at 111 but it shows the power is there.its only a fact if you can prove me wrong and that i doubt.

as ive stated and this is a fact.it takes very few mods to get m6 ls1s to run low 12s.it takes a skilled driver but its been done.

Yes it only does take a few mods to get an LS1 into the low 12's but it has to be the combination of correct mods to get there...and in this case, they just aren't present. Plain and Simple. I've made enough passes in my car and other LS1's over the past 2 years and I know exactly what they are capable of doing.

Throw some 4.10's, long tubes, and drag radials on an LS1 with a decent driver and there is your low 12 second run.

with a 111 trap speed i think he'll need somethin like a high 1.7-low 1.8 60' time.

you might need a little more than a DR to get you there with that 60.but youll be damn close.slicks should do it for you then.
