FireHawk vs WS6?
FireHawk vs WS6?
What does the Firehawk have over a WS6? In all categories, Appearance, Weight, Engine, Suspension? I was just wondering. It is also kind of weird how chevy has the z28, and ss, but pontiac, has the formula, ta, ws6, and firehawk. IS there any more chevy models? Sorry about all the questions just wondering

Firehawk's have a better looking hood and wheels IMO. They also have a better flowing catback.
WS6's have the raised airbox, so I think the power is pretty much the same.
Its all about looks between those 2.

in 4th gen camaros z28 camaros in some years had a sports appearance option which was the ground effects and such. It wasn't named the rs it still said z28 but besides the badging it looked almost identicle. My guess for pontiac having more models of firebirds is because it is the end of the line in their performance category while chevy still has the corvette. The firehawk costs new close to 40k which is very close to the corvette base price. I think Chevy just didn't need any more models with the corvette around.

SS and Z28 are the only camaro LS1 models, except for the B4C package (police camaros) and there is a V6 RS.

My dad has a firehawk so I'll answer the first question as best as I can. (we both became very familiar with the firehawk after the fight we had to go through to get him one). From what I know the SS Camaro and the Firehawk Firebird are/ were both packages by slp. The ws6 is/was not an SLP product/upgrade. The base firehawk (at least for 2002) included a new hood (different from the ws6) the dual dual slp exhaust (different from both the ws6 and base ss exhaust, which are the same), the blackwing air lid, and painted 17 in. firehawk wheels. From there you could add any of the same options that were available with the SS (plus one or two like the fiehawk spoiler) from SLP (floor mats to chrome rims to a firehawk rear spoiler to the auburn differential...and the list goes on and on). The firehawks were/are much more rare than the ss's but you don't/didn't have to pay 40K for one (although the dealership tried to make my dad pay that much until we laughed in their face and told them we would go buy a corvette for that price. If you want to hear the whole long drawn out story, bring over a case of beer and we'll re-live the drama for you) Maybe if you optioned the thing out with ALL of the slp add ons you could get close to 40K. Anyway, the engine alsways stayed the same (just the lid and exhuast were different. And there were suspecsion upgrades but that depended on what you ordered. Anyway thats what i can remember.
Basically the Hawk was made my slp & could be more optioned out. The WS6 is made my ASC & didn't have any options other than the GM ones. The hawk is a very nice car but the WS6 just looks more aggressive. As far as stock to stock it would come down to the driver.
