Firehawk rims?

What do you guys think of SLP's Firehawk rims? I'm still on the prowl for new rims and I definately like the chrome Firehawk ones. Only drawback is the width (17x9) Anyone have experience with these rims or something of similar size? What's the widest rubber I could fit on them? Just curious becuase when I see pics of black Firehawks with chrome rims... Yeah, that good...

I think some of those thin, chrome C5 rims look good on T/A's

About the largest tire you will want on them will be a 275/40/17 (285's will fit but won't hook any better).

I love my Firehawk rims! I've had them on my Z for several years now. They're not chrome, but I still think they look great! You can check out pics at the link in my sig.

The only disadvantage to the Firehawk rims are their weight. They're the heaviest "factory" option rims available at around 23 Lbs. each.

The firehawk rims look smooth on a black car or any car for that matter. They look even better with eradispeed rotors in the background . Very nice rims, well worth the price.

How much is the weight difference compared to regular rims then? Ho much of a diff. is it? Enough to slow me down considerably? Thanks again...

Here are most "factory optional" wheel weights according to SLP:

- WS6, ZR1 (painted), ZR1 (chrome) = 20 1/4 Lbs.

- 10 Spoke SS (painted) = 20 1/2 Lbs.

- 10 Spoke SS (chrome) = 21 Lbs.

- Firehawk (painted) = 22 Lbs.

- Firehawk (chrome) = 23 Lbs.

- Firebird/Z28 16" painted rims = 19 1/2 Lbs.

- C5 Front = 20 1/2 Lbs.

- C5 Rear = 23 Lbs.

So for me, I went from stock 16" Z28 rims to my Firehawk rims and added 2 1/2 Lbs. of weight at each corner. Part of the reason I went with Baer EradiSpeed rotors was to balance back down to the "stock" weight at each corner.

I doubt adding 3 Lbs. or so per wheel will make that much difference, but if you're a die hard racer, it's not something you really want to do....but they look GREAT!

Hmmm, sounds good, I guess they're not TOO much heavier, and no, there's no way I'm a hard-core racer. If it's only a few hundredths in the 1/4, oh well. But yeah, I can't find anything better looking at the moment, so unless I do, I'm gettin myself some new rims in Feb.!!!!
