Fire extinguisher overheat?

I just bought a Kidde Dry Chemical fire extiguisher. I intend to mount it between the rear seats using the wall mount.

Anyway, I was reading the side of it, it says:
"Do not store at high temperatures (above 120*)"

I live in Tucson, AZ where 100* weather is not uncommon. So that's easily over 120*+ inside the Camaro.

Should I worry about this? Is there a special extinguisher to buy?

If that's what it says on the bottle then I wouldn't install it in your car.

Fire extinguishers are pretty safe I wouldn't worry about anything happening to it so much as how much more ineffective the chemical becomes when its at that temperature. Also they dont' hold pressure for to long if there always at high temps.

Is that a house wall mount? Here's something to think about, you're in an accident and the air bag saves your life and then bang you get hit in the head ( lights out for good ) with the flying extinguisher.

Check with someone like Summit Racing and see about a fire extinguisher ( with the proper brackets ) that is made to work in a car.

I found some at Jegs.com. Cheapest is $47.

Let me know if anyone knows where I can get one cheaper.

Dark age you do have a good point. And, I do not want to have to replace the home extinguisher, over and over due to loss of pressure.

Hopefully I'll never have to use it. But, it'll be nice to know that it's there.
