Sorry about the mix up in who I was replying to. Each time the car was dynoed with the FTRA it was sealed. Complete with duct tape around the lid.

OK ... then that brings into question the significance for your gains with the Stealth Lid.

The FTRA is great when the car is in motion, but sealed and on the dyno it tends to be a restriction. It is not atypical for people to see 6-10 rhwp dyno gains when they unseal the FTRA. Based on how low you dynoed with the FTRA, I would say that this was probably the case.

So it's more likely that the Stealth at best is only good for 10 rwhp over a lid and probably as little as 6 or less ... but not 16.

So, over a lid the Stealth is defintely better static. But from a performance standpoint and track times it may not be as effective as the FTRA or an FIPK. It doesn't have the abilty to pressurize as the FTRA does and since it still has to contend with drawing air through a slot, it can't take full advantage of it's increased surface area, the way an open conical system can.

Good news guys, i just talked to the previous owner of my car, and he said that he will sell me his new FIPK for 150! That is like half what they cost anywhere else. Screw the lid, i am def gonna get the fipk now! Thanks for your help guys.

Very good point about the static testing. I hadn't given the FTRA much thought from the static view point. Altho I would rather have the increase from a mod show up thru out the rpm range instead of only at higher speeds. Haveing used the FTRA for over a year I have some questions.
1. How can the FTRA "pressurize" the intake?
2.Doesn't the FTRA only give you access to a "low pressure area" to draw air from?
The Stealth not only draws air from the front opening but the entire filter is raised appox. 1 inch so you do have the entire surface area of the filter open to draw air.
