Finding the Perfect Cam and Headers

Hey Guys I want to do a combination of installing Headers and a Cam.

First off, whats a good cam for a semi-daily driver, I go to the track a few times a year and put fewer that 8,000 miles a yr on my car. I dont want any crazy idling but something with good power gains but moderate and durable. Also how important is it to get a kit which includes matching valve springs, titanium retainers, and keepers. I think it probably pretty important to replace these parts when putting in a beefer cam, while my car has 46,000 miles on it, so do you know of any good cam packages.

Also I want to upgrade my stock headers with a pair of long tubes. As I understand most LTs on the market provide about the same power gains. My car is lowered 1 1/2 inches, most headers won't clear ie. SLP. What is the best pair of headers for clearance but also good performance.

Thanks for the input in advance

a good street cam that is very popular is 224/224 from thunder racing. a good set of headers are qtp, kooks, hookers, jet hots, pacesetters. im debating between the jet hots and pacesetters. but as long as you go with any longtube besides slp you should be fine. and btw, check out thunder racings web page. they have dyno numbers with their cams.

Think he is referring to the ground clearance they offer... mainly for lowered cars.
