I was wondering if anyone knew what the difference was between the 2000-3 285hp 5.3 and the 295hp 2004-6 motor. Where did the extra 10 hp come from?

Also was there any difference in the 6.0L GMC motor(320hp) vs the 6.0L Caddy motor(345hp) when they offered 2002-05?

i knwo the change in 2005 was teh heads... called the LQ9 heads which are a Z06 style head and just a bigger combustion chamber for more low end torque

Also take into consideration that the Feds made a standard HP rating procedure. Thats why the Z06 is now 505 hp instead of the original 500 HP GM advertised. They can't round the numbers anymore.

If you look at the same model imports that haven't had changes, you'll notice that several hp ratings have been reduced.

The diff between the regular 6L and the LQ (caddy) 6L are heads.

 

Okay, I wasn't sure if the Denali had the caddy heads or regular heads.
