fender tabs removed (things sticking down behind front tires)

After an accident i had some majorly bent/broken fender tabs. Instead of trying to straighten them out and pay for them to get fixed i came up with an idea to cut them off. I just drilled a hole through the hole that was already there from the factory. It is just plain metal beneath so i used sheet metal screws to secure (will get low profile screws tomorrow so they wont be as noticeable). To cut the fender tabs and metal tabs off i used a dremel with cut off disks. After i cut both i used a little black spray paint on the bare metal to keep it from rusting. Overall it turned out very well, and was very easy. Now i dont have these hanging down for people to jack on, dont have them in sight when looking at it from the side, and dont have them to scrape, bend and break. If you have any questions let me know.

Thumbs up Neat idea.

The factory mounting style of these fenders is **** poor , in my opinion.

I have to always warn the people @ Discount about how to lift - most say they know how, but I figure better safe than sorry.

No pooched fenders so far !

Good mod, i might have to do that also, i fell victim to 'car jacked up by wrong lift points'

From day one I've been wanting to do that. Guess I just didn't have the guts to go cutting on my car. I will now though. How long did it take to cut the old tab off? Looks awesome

the whole mod took about an hour. Second went a lot faster since i knew what to do. Very easy with a dremel and a couple of cutoff disks.
