FAST 90/90....what are they doing about the 75mm maf?
so for those guys putting the big boy FAST 90/90 combo on thier cars. are you upgrading your MAF sensor as well?
everyone always talks of the stock maf not being a restriction, but that is on the factory 75mm TB and intake opening.
to take advantage of the bigger FAST setup, is a bigger maf needed? like the ZO6 or similar?
you also hear the tuning can be a pain with these, does it become easier with such a radical setup? or is it just an accepted hassle in building such a motor?
what are the LS7s using for a MAF?

im in the process of getting a maf for that exact setup. still researching pros/cons to other maf's and what tuning needs to be done. keep in touch on it.
Re: FAST 90/90....what are they doing about the 75mm maf?
And what about the lid/bellows on these setups? If you get a FAST 90/90 and larger/ported MAF, aren't you still restricted by the lid and/or bellows at that point? Short of doing something like a Ramjet style manifold with a big honkin' K&N sticking off the front...
I always wondered what the point of spending the money on the larger MAF was if your lid and bellows are the same size. Obviously the FAST stuff doesn't flow in just a straight line so I see the improved efficiency with that.

TSP use to offer a lid with an 85mm opening.
although i think the opening on standard lids is still more than the diameter of the stock maf. so it's not that much of a restriction.

Texas Speed also makes a lid for the 85mm MAF if you want to go that way.

Fast Toys is going to be making a new lid with a 90mm opening. Many of the 90/90 guys are actually running without a MAF. It's all in the tuning.

Re: FAST 90/90....what are they doing about the 75mm maf?
interesting.
have you thought of swapping to a bigger maf to see what happens?
seems kindda stupid to spend $1200 on intake/tb and have it restricted by the maf sensor.
not to mention only gaining 1.5mph seems pretty small for the price too

I had a Pace LS-6 vv MAF before and went back to stock after tuning issues with MS3 cam.
Not really, you spend more then $1200 on a heads swap to only gain 15-20 hp, but I am thinking of plastic MAF ends for more flow and less heat.
I also have done no tuning for the FAST 90/90 with tuning I'm sure I can pick up more.
