Lightbulb It really varies w/ the dealer !

I bought my SS used , and it has a lid, Borla, HPP3 , and a stall converter installed by the first owner.

I never had flak about warranty issues - even when I was told the clunking sound was caused by loose tranny bolts !

That may have been some service write B.S. - no way to know - but nonetheless it was covered under warranty.

Now, there are plenty of horror stories about **** service writers/managers trying to kill warranties for stupid things like lids or MAF ends.

My understanding is that to void a warranty, the dealer must prove that the item caused the others to fail.

The easiest route (if you do not have any good leads to local "liberal" dealerships is to do no mods that are not readily reversible by YOU ! before you take your car in for any service work.

No problems w/ the warranty per se - getting them to take care of what I felt was a warranty issue after the mileage/time had expired but I was on record as having visited them w/ the same complaint after the gauge cluster was replaced was a little trickier, but mission accomplished.

Bring on the horror stories, gents - I know that they are out there !!
