Have a quick question about the factory alarm on my new car. It was acting strange before and just kept going off for what I thought was no reason. It would go off at about the same time every time after I locked up the car. I realized I had left my rear-view mirror light on. Could that of triggered my alarm to go off so I wouldn't drain my battery? I turned off the alarm because it was annoying me, but I also shut off the light. Anybody have any input before I go arm the system again?

My car alarm doesn't go off when I leave the map light(s) on. Maybe its some sort of factory setting.

Are you sure it was when you locked the door? The default factory setting is set to go off if you don't put the keys in the ignition 8 seconds after you unlock the door. Using keyless entry instead of the actual key goes around the whole 8 second thing.

 

This is getting me mad now. The car was fine for two weeks. The alarm never went off falsely. I didn't change anything or reprogram the settings. The only think I did differently was leave the map light on. Oh well, I will fool around with it tomorrow. Thanks for the input.
