Exhaust Setup Question

I have an idea...I think it would be really cool if I could set up my exhaust like this.

Hooker Longtube Headers w/2.5" exits into a 3" Y-Pipe into the GMMG Chambered System. I want to install an electric cutout in between each header and it's Y-Pipe connection so I can flip a switch and run open headers at will. I will either run the cutouts open or extend some 2.5" pipe out to each side, maybe extending and turning outwards at the rear tires. I have seen this type of sidepipe on an AAR Cuda and it looked badass. There will be no catalytic converters and the rear O2 Sensors will be deleted from the computer with LS1 Edit.

It will look something like this:

Now my questions are:
1. Can you get hooker longtubes with 2.5" collector exits?
2. Is there enough room underneath a 98 WS6 lowered 1-2" to run a pipe down and out each side?
3. Quicktime Performance has a "QTP Off Road QTEC Y Pipe Includes 2 Quick Time Electric Cutouts, Wiring and Switch" for sale on their site (http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/ls1exhaust.htm), but what size is this Y-Pipe?
4. How do I know if the electric cutouts will be the right size (2.5")?

What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

Sounds cool, but i don't know if it will work the setup of your picture looks expensive and a lot of time and effort towards this project.

Thanks, it's basically hooker longtubes into the y-pipe into the GMMG, but with cutouts leading to pipes out the side so at the flip of a switch I have two exhausts to choose from.

Sounds pretty cool. Take lots of digital pics if you get it done. I would suggest trying to tuck the side pipes under as much as possible and maybe use a wide & flat tip that dumps out the side prior to the rear wheels.

I was looking at QTP's site a couple of days ago and I noticed that they are now making the Grot headers. They have a y-pipe available to go with those headers that have electric cut outs already installed in them so you can run open headers. Only thing is, the headers cost a little more than the Hooker's.
