Question Exhaust problem?

I'm almost ready to do my true duals, and i just got my mufflers and cats. I ordered the Jet Hot LT's with smog provisions cuz i want to keep all the smog stuff on (if I don't, my dad won't let me do the exhaust at all). However, the cats DID NOT come with AIR TUBES and the instructions that came with them show how to use the air tubes. But I don't have them on my new cats. I called Thunder Racing and they said to just block it off. Will blocking off the cat air tube throw an SES light or hurt performance at all? Will this affect smog at all?

The cats are Random Tech high flow, 3"in/out.

The very first thing you should know about the federal law regarding emissions equiptment is: the cats can't be replaced unless the car has over 50,000 miles or they have been damaged or are faulty AND you can not move the cats from their original location. By installing long tube headers, the cats are moved back and this is grounds for failing a emmissions check.

i know all that. Most cops won't have a beef with it here as long as you have them. As for smog, i'll get one off the books to see if I can pass. And if I don't pass, then when it comes time smog again I'll have someone hook me up with a "passing one".

Kinda off topic but what does your dad have to do with what you do to the car? He doesn't own it does he?
