I am about to go back to the traditional y-pipe set up from duals(they are too loud and too low hanging for my taste). Anyways I was thinking of going with the hooker y-pipe for cost and clearance under the vehicle, but can't decide between the hooker cat back or the magnaflow. I want something that is deep sounding, relatively quiet at idle, but still sounds good when I put the right pedal through the firewall. Any opioins on this or another setup are more than welcome, but keep in mind cost is a factor. Thanks.

 

You describe the Dynomouth exactly...
The volume is controlled by the throttle. You can 'stealth' around when you need to, or you can open the gates of hell when you want to be heard.
