Exhaust dump: good, bad??

I am looking at taking my car to a muffler shop to have a custom dump (cutout) installed coming straight off of the 90 deg elbow going into the stock muffler. Later I am thinking of adding an electric cutout. Is this a good idea, bad idea I would appreciate any input. I am looking more for mean sound than power, but hopefully I'll pick up a few ponies in the process.

you should do it, it sounds sweet, only problem is after a while you will start to get some rasp...but its not too bad. I have unmuffled H pipe on my car...same concept, and I love it.
