Question Exhaust Blueprint?

Can someone help me out a little? I want to take off my cats and I need to know exactly how to do so. I don't want to set off any codes in the computer either. Where can I get the replacement pipes, O2 sensers, and whats a good price for these items?

Thanks a bunch,
Jason

You will throw codes when removing the cats. The only way to get rid of them is with some kind of tuning (LS1 edit preferred).

Are you doing this on a stock exhaust? If so I'd recommend just leaving it until you get headers or a catback or something. If not:

O2 sims, anything under $100 or so and you'll be ok.

Replacement pipes, you can probably get from Summit or Jegs for not too much. You could probably have you're local exhaust shop fab up some pipes for cheap.

Yes, I have a Flowmaster Cat back exhaust.
What do the O2 sims do?
I thought they had something to do with keeping the SES light from coming on.

if your not planning on passing emission ever save your time and just gut the cats out. or get an off road pipe and 02 sims and you willl have no ses. not sure but you would need a custom y pipe to get rid of cats i don't believe anyone makes one for the stock manifolds.

Where in Lexington are you at? I go to UK, but I'm in Danville for the summer. Do you ever cruise around downtown Lex on the weekends?

I live in the Tates Creek area. How 'bout you? Noticed on your profile you lift weights, so do I....at Gold's Gym on Boston Rd. I know exactly where Danville is, I'm originally from Corbin

I never cruise around downtown, but I've raced a few punks on New Circle who thought their Imports where fast, until they saw what the ***-end of Z28 looks like

During school I live on North campus. I'll be coming back up for school in August, but will be in Lex a few times during the summer. We should get an F-body group together or something. There is a group of F-body owners (2 WS6's, 1 Z28, SS and IROC) that meet up and cruise around downtown Lexington on weekends. I'm going down to the Rod Run in Tennessee in August, and it would definitely be cool if we could get some F-bodies to go down at the same time.
