Exhaust Backfire issues

I have a 2001 SS, LS1, with SLP bolt-on rear tube exhaust. Ever since installation I have had an exhaust backfire condition during low RPM acceleration, and a slight rough idle. Most backfiring occurs when engine is cold and weather is cool/ cold...I have no diagnostic readings from my analyzer, but have intermittent exhaust backfire, during acceleration, mostly during cool weather....Hot weather (I live in Pensacola, FL) has little to no backfiring issues, only when engine is cool while warming up...Backfiring doesn't occur when RPM's are raised or when decelerating.

Any suggestions would be extremly appreciated!!

Adding the exhaust probably amplified (by volume alone) the situation you already had, but didn't realize. Adding bolt-ons like exhaust isn't going to make a car run any differently.

Try cleaning your MAF or filter.

Has the car ever been tuned?

Have replaced air filter several times, along with replacing the fuel filter....Have not replaced the plugs and wires...Will replace and see if that clears it up...

Thanks!
