Flow's are cheap and the 80 series sound awesome on the ls1, they just flow as good as others.

Borla sounds good, but is basically a expensive stainless steel cutout with nice tips.

Personally get the flowmaster and a cutout. Much cheaper. But if you've got the bread . .

You want something loud and the best flow?
Go with duals; pipes with no mufflers. Isn't very expensive either. My setup cost me $360 and that included to tips that were $60 a piece.
Sounds good, nice throaty rumble at idle, and LOUD at WOT

I just have a 80 series flowmaster muffler and 4"x24" echo tips on my Z28 and it sounds WAY better than the Flowmaster American Thunder on my SS. I'll be replacing the one on the SS with a SLP Loudmouth system

You can have your cake and eat it too...
The best flowing muffler.
The lowest price.
The best sound for an LS1.

Just do the Dynomouth mod...
The muffler flows 2200+ cfm. For perspective, Borla flows around 950 cfm, Magnaflow 1100 cfm, and Flowmaster about 350 cfm.
My Dynomouth cost $140 including professional installation.
The sound is deep, lots of bass... pure musclecar up to 3000 rpm. After 3k it growls with a high intimidation factor. At redline it is Nascar at it's best.

On my website, page 2, I have links to pics, sounds, and some tips on doing the mod.

Good luck
Dave

hmm, I would suggest a www.sweet-thunder.com exhaust in the same place as the dynomouth diagram from the above post..

or a cut-out.. I think the cutout will be the loudest for you and you stated you wanted loud.

Corsa is not loud.. more refined and expensive with some cases of people haveing them break.. not good..

Its mainly a matter of whats more important..

The sweet thunder muffler is not too expensive and you can have the same type of exhaust as a GMMG at a fraction of the cost.

Definately not a good idea!
The chambered mufflers are more restrictive than the stock tubing. The largest chambered muffler you can get has an internal size of 2.5" before the piping is crimped even smaller! Just stick with the DynoMax race bullets... they are much cheaper and flow massively better.

I spoke to the guy at Sweet-Thunder. He stated he can do custom work and has a 3-inch tube.

Sure, the website states that... it also says that the 3" tubes have a 2.5" internal size.
The DynoMax race bullet is less than $40 to your door. How much is that custom 3" to your door?

Thanks! You listened to StealthStalkerLS1's car (Brian). He is a friend on www.ls1.com . His sound clip was clearer than mine so I have his to demonstrate the exhaust. I have another, plus some install pic links and a complete set of instructions for the exhaust on page 2 of my website.
This system is not store bought or promoted for profit. It is just a good solid mod that you can have done to your car at your local muffler shop.
Good luck
